Tuchola
The Jeziorka Kozie reserve lies in the Tuchola commune, in the central part of the Tuchola Landscape Park. It protects a group of small, adjoining kettle hollows — remains of ice blocks buried in sand after the ice sheet retreated.
Three of the basins are dystrophic lakes with acidic water poor in nutrients. Their surface is gradually overgrown by a floating moss mat and turns into a raised bog. The fourth hollow no longer has open water and is covered by pine woodland. Protected species typical of raised bogs grow here.
The most charming of the lakes is open to visitors: a wooden boardwalk leads out over the water, giving a clear view of the successive stages of overgrowth. Information boards are set along the approach. The walk is short, and the surrounding pine forest offers pleasant shade in summer.
