Drzycim, Wieś Drzycim
Napoleon's Stone lies on the southern edge of the Tuchola Forest, about 4.5 km from the village of Drzycim. It is a granite erratic boulder measuring roughly 150 by 110 cm, protected as a monument of inanimate nature. A crown and two Maltese crosses are carved on its surface.
A local story links the stone to the march of Napoleon's army on Moscow in 1812 — the symbols were supposedly cut by a Polish soldier serving in those units. A second version reaches much further back, to the battle of Drzycim in 1091, in which the forces of Władysław Herman clashed with those of the Pomeranian dukes. Neither story is confirmed by surviving sources.
The boulder stands off the beaten track, in the forest, so reaching it takes a short walk along a forest road. A visit combines well with a hike through the nearby woods and the valley of the Wda, which cuts across this part of the Tuchola Forest.
