Wieś Siedlec (gmina Janów)
Jaskinia na Dupce lies by the village of Siedlec in the Janów commune, about 25 km from Częstochowa, in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. It is a small and easily accessible cave: the entrance leads into a corridor that gradually descends to a spacious chamber, from which a passage of more than a dozen metres runs on, full of fissures and recesses.
Inside, small stalactites and stalagmites have survived — modest in scale, but a clear illustration of how dripstone forms. The cave is linked to the legend of Twardowski fleeing the devil; the same story explains the origin of the nearby Siedlec Desert, a sandy area next to the village.
No climbing equipment is needed — a strong torch and spare batteries are enough. The cave is undeveloped, with no lighting or handrails, so move carefully and wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty.
