A rocky gorge near Mników

Wąwóz Półrzeczki lies in Kraków County, along the road linking Mników with Baczyn, within Tenczynek Landscape Park. It neighbours the well-known Mnikowska Valley but draws far fewer visitors, so quiet is easy to find here.

Rocks and caves

The slopes of the gorge are formed by steep limestone walls, each with its own name: Dębowe Skałki, Kanapa, Księżycowa Skała, Mnik, Skała w Łopiankach and Zaciszny Filar. They are a popular destination for climbers. Several caves and rock shelters hide in the walls, the largest being Jaskinia na Łopiankach, next to it Jaskinia Księżycowa among others.

Visiting

A blue walking trail from Mników to Przybysławice runs along the bottom of the gorge; the shaded forest walk takes under an hour. A torch is handy for peering into the cave entrances, which children usually enjoy most. After rain the paths and limestone turn slippery, so shoes with a good sole are worth wearing.
