Skałki Piekło Gatniki is a band of rock forms of Jurassic sandstone hidden in dense forest on the border between the villages of Piekło and Niebo in the Końskie district. They stretch for about a hundred metres and the tallest blocks rise five metres high.
Their shape was carved by long-lasting erosion: the sandstone gave way layer by layer, leaving overhangs, niches and mushroom-like ledges. This is a protected example of inanimate nature, seen best in early spring, before the forest turns green and hides the outlines of the rocks.
Forest tracks lead to the rocks and are comfortable for cyclists too. A few kilometres away lies Sielpia with its large reservoir and extensive tourist facilities, so a visit is easy to combine with time by the water or a longer trip around the Końskie region.
