Dąbrowa Górnicza
Srocza Góra is a limestone hill 329.5 metres above sea level in Strzemieszyce, a district of Dąbrowa Górnicza. Despite the modest height difference it is geologically valuable — it is protected as a documentation site, that is, a place of special importance for the earth sciences.
An educational trail with boards explaining the geology and the history of limestone quarrying leads across the hill. The route runs through shaded woodland, passes the longest quarry in the area, about 300 metres long, and reaches the two largest caves of the hill.
The easiest way here is along the waymarked walking trails crossing Strzemieszyce; walking around the whole hill takes little more than an hour. The area is left in a natural state, with no tourist development, so comfortable shoes are useful — the paths can be stony and are steep near the old workings.
