Wieś Złoty Potok
The spring complex in Złoty Potok consists of two outflows lying a few dozen metres apart. They were named in 1857 after the children of the poet Zygmunt Krasiński, who spent time here with his family. The springs lie in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, in the valley of the Wiercica stream, among woods and ponds that form one of the most recognisable landscapes of the region.
These are fissure and karst springs of the outflow type, linked exclusively with rocky limestone. Water travels through karst voids very quickly, so their yield can vary noticeably over the year. The temperature nevertheless stays stable, between 9 and 11 °C, and the water itself is of the highest quality class.
The spring waters are home to relics of the Ice Age: the spring shrimp and the Carpathian spring snail. Short marked paths lead to both outflows and are easily combined with a walk to the nearby ponds and the Raczyński palace.
