Leszno
The gravel pit lake in Zaborowo is a reservoir left after gravel extraction ended, located near Leszno in Greater Poland. Water filled the former excavation, creating a body of water with sandy banks that quickly became a popular leisure spot for local residents, especially during the summer months.
The banks serve for sunbathing and rest, but swimming in the reservoir is forbidden — this is not a supervised bathing area. There is also a ban on using any floating craft for fishing and on water sports or water-based recreation. It is worth reading the rules posted on site before heading down to the water.
The reservoir operates as a publicly accessible lowland fishery of the Leszno branch of the Polish Angling Association and is open all year, except for ice fishing in winter. For anglers it is one of the regular spots in the region; for everyone else, a quiet area for a walk and rest by the water.
