A forest education centre on the Brda

The centre is run by the Woziwoda Forest District, part of the Bory Tucholskie Promotional Forest Complex. The building stands on the escarpment of the Brda valley, right next to the forest district headquarters, in the Tuchola municipality. Its heart is a two-level hall with a clearly exposed timber structure, filled with exhibitions devoted to the forest.

Exhibitions and classes

The displays introduce the fauna and flora of the pine woods, the gifts of the forest, and the daily work of the forester together with the history of forest management. Groups have access to a screening corner for about 30 people with multimedia equipment, a spacious teaching area upstairs, and a smaller room for groups of 10 to 20 people with facilities for preparing their own materials.

Good to know

Classes for groups must be arranged in advance with the education officer. Outside booked slots the building can be visited independently or with a guide. It makes a good stop on a journey through the Bory Tucholskie, especially when the weather spoils hiking and paddling on the Brda.
