Wieś Borucino
Brama Kaszubska is a narrow isthmus in the Kashubian Lake District separating Lake Raduńskie Górne from Lake Raduńskie Dolne. It lies by the village of Borucino in the Kartuzy district, at the end of a wooded ravine leading up from Kartuzy, along regional road no. 228. The causeway carrying the road was built in the 19th century and gave the place its present shape.
From the isthmus you look out over two lakes at once — the water reaches almost to the verge on both sides of the road, while steep, wooded slopes of the glacial trough rise in the background. It is one of the most photographed spots in Kashubia, at its best early in the morning and in autumn when the forests change colour.
Right next door stands the limnological station of the University of Gdańsk, which studies the Radunia lakes. Holiday resorts line the shores, and the Szymbark Hills Trail passes through the area, making it a good base for longer walks. Note that the road across the causeway is narrow and busy, so any stop has to be planned off the carriageway.
