The Opatowice Weir, also called Jaz Opatowice, is a sector weir in the Śródmieście district of Wrocław, built at kilometre 245 of the Oder. It forms part of the Opatowice barrage, itself a component of the Bartoszowice-Opatowice water junction — an extensive system of weirs, locks and canals that regulates the flow of the river through the city.
The structure consists of three spans, each thirty-two metres wide. The weir dams the upper stretch of the river, known as the Upper Wrocław Oder, and controls how the flow is divided between the river's arms. A bridge carried over the weir links Bartoszowice with Opatowicka Island, also called the Island of Love.
The area around the weir is a popular destination for walks and bike rides — surfaced paths follow the embankments and canals, and the bridge offers a clear view of the damming gear at work. It is one of the more interesting examples of Wrocław's water engineering open without a ticket.
