Chańcza Reservoir (Chańcza Lagoon)

Chańcza is the largest body of water in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, created between 1974 and 1984 by building a dam on the Czarna Staszowska River. Its area of approx. 340 ha and wooded shores make it a popular fishing ground in the region.

Location and surroundings

The reservoir lies in the south-eastern part of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, near the villages of Chańcza and Kotuszów; it is also fed by the Łagowica River.

What's on offer / What to see

Bream and roach are caught here most often; tench, crucian carp, ide and carp are also present, and among predators pikeperch, pike, catfish and perch. The depth reaches approx. 11 m by the dam.
