The longest lake in Poland (27.45 km) and the sixth largest by area (about 31.5 km²), located in the Iława Lakeland within the Iława Landscape Park. A ribbon lake with numerous bays, peninsulas and 16–17 islands, including the largest inland island in Poland – Wielka Żuława. Average depth about 4 m, max. about 13 m.
Rich fish stock: tench, catfish, zander, pike, eel, crucian carp, bream, roach, carp. Night fishing from boats and from the shore is popular, including in the area of Siemiany and Tynwałd. Iława is the main base for anglers and sailors.
Main base in Iława (inland port with facilities); access by rail and national road.
