A dam reservoir created in 1978 after the damming of the Nysa Szalona River, in the Kaczawa Mountains area. Total area approx. 500 ha, capacity nearly 40 million m³, maximum depth approx. 20 m, shoreline length approx. 19 km. It consists of two basins connected by a narrowing known as Gardziel; class I purity waters.
A fishing ground valued by anglers; a drinking water reservoir, hence restrictions apply. The body of water is managed by the PZW District in Legnica.
