The Augustów lock is a historic, single-chamber lock located in the centre of Augustów, dividing the international waterway into an eastern and a western section. Right next to it is the Museum of the Augustów Canal.
The lock is located at approx. km 32.5 of the canal, in the centre of Augustów, in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. In a small wooden building nearby is the Museum of the Augustów Canal.
The lock was built as part of the construction of the Augustów Canal (1824–1839). The canal, approx. 101 km long (approx. 82 km in Poland), designed by General Ignacy Prądzyński, is one of the most valuable hydro-engineering monuments in Poland.
The lock is accessible in the city centre; next to it you can visit a museum exhibition devoted to the history of the canal. Cruises on the lakes and the canal set off from Augustów.

Locking during the navigation season (usually April–October). The Museum of the Augustów Canal is open Tue–Sun 9:00–16:00 (regular ticket 5 PLN, reduced 3 PLN).
