Przewięź Lock is one of the historic single-chamber locks of the Augustów Canal, located on a popular cruise section running from Augustów towards Lake Studzieniczne.
The lock lies at approx. km 43.5 of the canal, in the village of Przewięź in the Nowinka commune, Podlaskie Voivodeship, within the Augustów Primeval Forest.
The lock was built as part of the construction of the Augustów Canal (1824-1839) to the design of General Ignacy Prądzyński. The walls of many of the canal's locks were built of red brick and light-coloured sandstone.
To sail from Augustów to Lake Studzieniczne, boats pass through the Przewięź Lock - a frequent stop on tourist cruises along the canal.
