Rudziniec Lock (Gliwice Canal)

The Rudziniec Lock is one of the six historic, twin-chamber locks of the Gliwice Canal, included in the Industrial Monuments Route of the Silesian Voivodeship.

Location and surroundings

The lock is located in the village of Rudziniec in the Rudziniec commune (Gliwice County), in the Silesian Voivodeship, on the route of the Gliwice Canal.

History

The lock was built as part of the construction of the Gliwice Canal (1934-1939), which replaced the older Kłodnica Canal. The canal was ceremonially opened in 1939.
