Sosnowo Lock

The Sosnowo Lock is a single-chamber lock on the Augustów Canal, located at km 13.20 of the trail, on the lower, Biebrza section of the canal. It is one of the oldest hydro-engineering structures of the canal.

History

The original lock was built between 1825 and 1826. In its present form it dates from 1948, when it was rebuilt after wartime damage as a concrete structure.
