The Brda, known as the Queen of the Tuchola Rivers, is one of the most beautiful and varied kayak trails in Poland, running through the Tuchola Forest. The section from Świeszyno to Swornegacie was recognised by National Geographic Poland as one of the six best kayak routes in Poland.
The Brda trail is about 233 km long and ends in Bydgoszcz; paddling the whole route takes around 10 days and requires about 5 portages. The operator Kajakiem przez Bory has a base in Cekcyn.
The river has a varied character — from calm stretches through meadows and forests to sections with a faster current and steep banks. Sample sections: Nowa Brda–Przechlewo (27.1 km), Przechlewo–Swornegacie (30 km), Swornegacie–Czernica (11 km).
The trail is well marked and friendly for beginners, yet also attractive for the experienced.
