Przeworsk Commuter Railway "Pogórzanin"

The Przeworsk Commuter Railway is a historic narrow-gauge railway with a 750 mm gauge, operating under the name "Pogórzanin" through the valley of the Mleczka River from Przeworsk towards Dynów. Along the route there is a unique tunnel of about 600 metres in Szklary - the only operating passable tunnel on Polish narrow-gauge railways.

Location and surroundings

The line runs through the Rzeszów Foothills and the Dynów Foothills, passing among others the reservoir and bathing area in Łopuszka Mała.

History

The railway was built between 1902 and 1904 to serve the sugar factory and was officially opened on 8 September 1904. It was incorporated into PKP in 1947. Since 1993 it has operated tourist trains. In 2024 it carried a record of about 34,400 passengers.
