The Historic Narrow-Gauge Railway Station in Rudy is an open-air museum and an operating railway with a 785 mm gauge, offering tourist rides hauled by steam and diesel traction.

Location and surroundings

The station in Rudy (Kuźnia Raciborska municipality) was the largest on the former Gliwice - Racibórz line. It housed repair workshops, sidings and a triangle for turning steam locomotives.

History

The railway in Rudy appeared on 25 March 1899 with the opening of the 785 mm gauge narrow-gauge line. Record traffic was noted in 1954 (over 1.8 million passengers). The station was opened to visitors on 24 January 1994.

What to see

A railway museum, engine shed, blacksmith's forge, a Silesian chamber, as well as tourist rides and handcar trips.
