Gniezno Narrow-Gauge Railway

The Gniezno Narrow-Gauge Railway is a historic railway with a 750 mm gauge, whose historical network ran from Gniezno via Witkowo and Powidz to Anastazewo.

Seasonal tourist services operate on the Gniezno - Las Jelonek section, in the vicinity of Gniezno.

History

The railway was founded in 1884 at the Gniezno sugar factory; in 1893 it was bought by the Witkowo county council. It operated as the Witkowo County Railway, and from 1927 as the Gniezno Narrow-Gauge Railway. In 1928 it was the first in Poland to introduce a railcar. It was taken over by PKP in 1949. Passenger services were resumed seasonally in 2019.
