Śmigiel Narrow-Gauge Railway

The Śmigiel Feeder Railway is a historic narrow-gauge railway with a 750 mm gauge, running occasionally on the Stare Bojanowo Wąskotorowe - Śmigiel - Wielichowo section.

Location and surroundings

The line links Stare Bojanowo (by the standard-gauge line) with Śmigiel and Wielichowo in south-western Greater Poland.

History

The railway was built in 1900-1901 as a local narrow-gauge line; passenger services began on 30 October 1900. In 1949 it was incorporated into PKP. Services were suspended on 23 June 2001 and resumed on 24 January 2002 under local management. Today trains run occasionally, a few times a year.
