Pleszew Local Railway

The Pleszew Local Railway is a narrow-gauge railway with a 750 mm gauge, running regularly (year-round) on a short section, Pleszew Miasto - Pleszew Wąskotorowy (approx. 3.5 km). It is part of the former Krotoszyn Feeder Railway.

Location and surroundings

The line links the centre of Pleszew with the Pleszew Wąskotorowy station on the standard-gauge line, also serving a transport function.

History

The former Krotoszyn Feeder Railway was built in stages from 1900; passenger services opened on 15 May 1900. In 1949 it was incorporated into PKP, and traffic was suspended on 12 January 1986. The Pleszew section was reactivated, and from 4 May 2015 regular services were resumed under the name Pleszew Local Railway.

An attraction for tourists and residents; it runs a dozen or so times a day on weekdays.
