Kalisz Feeder Railway

The Kalisz Feeder Railway is a historic railway with a 750 mm gauge in the Kalisz region. Seasonal tourist rides take place on the Zbiersk - Goliszew section.

Location and surroundings

The historical line linked Kalisz, Opatówek, Russów and Turek; today the section around Zbiersk is in operation.

History

Construction began in 1914 to serve the Zbiersk sugar factory; passenger services started on 15 October 1918. In the interwar period it operated as the Kalisz-Turek County Railway. It was nationalised by PKP in 1949. Today it is operated by the Association of Local Rail Transport; in 2024 it carried around 21,100 passengers.
