Vistula Narrow-Gauge Railway

The Vistula Narrow-Gauge Railway (formerly the Nałęczów Feeder Railway) is a historic 750 mm gauge railway - the only operating narrow-gauge line in the Lublin Voivodeship. Its main station is in Karczmiska.

Location and surroundings

Rides run on the Karczmiska - Poniatowa and Karczmiska - Polanówka routes in the western part of the Lublin region. At Karczmiska station there is a railway museum and a viewpoint on the water tower.

History

The railway's origins date back to 1892 and the estate of the Kleniewski family; wooden tracks were originally used to transport sugar beet to the "Zagłoba" sugar factory. The railway is now owned by Opole County, with the Poviat Road Authority in Opole Lubelskie, based in Poniatowa, as its operator.
