A historic forest narrow-gauge railway with a 600 mm track gauge, leading deep into the Białowieża Forest. Managed by the Hajnówka Forest District (State Forests), today it serves a purely tourist function and is one of the most popular attractions of the Hajnówka region.
The railway was built in the Białowieża Forest between 1916 and 1957; construction was started by the Germans during World War I to exploit timber. Since 1991 the line has served tourist traffic only.
Two tourist routes are in operation: Hajnówka - Topiło (approx. 11 km) and Hajnówka - Forest River Valley (approx. 6 km). The train runs through picturesque parts of the forest and small clearings at a speed of about 15 km/h.
Seasonal service, usually from late April/1 May to October. In the 2026 season departures are planned among others at 9:00 and 13:00. The timetable and prices are set annually by the Hajnówka Forest District.
The starting station is in Hajnówka, a town on the edge of the Białowieża Forest. Accessible by car or by rail to Hajnówka.
