A historic narrow-gauge railway of northern Mazovia, the last route of its kind in the region. Originally 600 mm gauge, it was regauged to 750 mm around 1960. The preserved line is about 74 km long and runs through the most beautiful monuments of northern Mazovia between Mława and Maków Mazowiecki (via Grudusk, Przasnysz and Krasne).
The railway was expanded during World War I, when German troops rapidly built sections to supply the front (the first Mława-Przasnysz section was built in 23 days). Passenger traffic was closed on 1 January 1986, after which the tracks were partly dismantled.
Thanks to grants (among others from the Local Tourist Organisation of Northern Mazovia), selected sections were restored for tourist traffic. Rides on the historic railway and rail bikes are organised - including train rides on the section around Czernice Borowe/Klewki and rail bikes on the Przasnysz - Leszno - Krasne route. In Czernice Borowe there is a steam locomotive and a serviceable train set.
Tourist rides run seasonally on selected dates (train rides roughly once a month, rail bikes at weekends). Specific dates and times are set annually by the organiser.
Main points: Przasnysz and Mława (Mława Wąskotorowa station) in northern Mazovia. Accessible by car; Mława also by standard-gauge rail.
