The Pilica is the longest left-bank tributary of the Vistula (319 km), flowing through southern and central Poland. The Sulejów-Spała route leads through the picturesque Sulejów Landscape Park and combines natural beauty with a gentle current. The operator Meandry Pilicy organises trips from a starting base in Sulejów.
Trips start in Sulejów (Łódź Province); the company office is in Piotrków Trybunalski. In 2008 a 228 km Pilica waterway trail was opened.
Sample routes: Biała-Sulejów (10 km, 2-3 hrs), Trzy Morgi-Sulejów (20 km, 4-5 hrs), Łęg Ręczyński-Sulejów (25 km, 5-6 hrs), Sulejów-Spała (approx. 35 km, 2 days), Maluszyn-Przedbórz-Sulejów (80 km, 4 days).
The gentle current makes the route suitable for beginners and families, while the longer variants suit more advanced paddlers.
