The Podgórze Mine is an underground tourist route in a former uranium ore mine in Kowary - one of the largest uranium mines in Poland.
The site is located in Kowary in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship (Karkonosze Mountains), approx. 21 km from Jelenia Góra.
Podgórze was the largest uranium mine in Kowary. The route presents authentic workings, including a rich collection of uranium glass that glows under UV light. An extreme route is also available (advance booking required).
For individual tourists, families and thrill-seekers (extreme route).
Constant temperature approx. 8°C; free car park at the mine entrance.
Jul-Aug: 9:30-17:30; other months: 10:30-16:30.
