The Walim Adits are an underground complex of adits and workings from the Second World War, created as part of the German "Riese" (Giant) project in the Owl Mountains.
The site is located in Walim in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in the Owl Mountains (Góry Sowie).
From 1943, the Germans carried out large-scale construction work in this area under the codename "Riese". The purpose of the complex remains ambiguous (theories about underground armaments factories or a command headquarters). The tourist route, over 500 m long, leads through corridors and chambers hewn into the rock.
For individual tourists, families and groups interested in history and underground sites.
Visits only with a guide; low temperature 5-7°C - warmer clothing recommended.
Oct-Apr: Mon-Fri 9:00-17:00, weekends 9:00-18:00; May-Sep: Mon-Fri 9:00-18:00, weekends 9:00-19:00. Closed on Easter, 1 Nov, 24-26 Dec.
