"Kłodawa" Salt Mine

The "Kłodawa" Salt Mine is a working rock-salt mine that offers the deepest underground tourist route in Poland - at a level of 600 m below ground.

Location and surroundings

The mine is located in Kłodawa in the Greater Poland Voivodeship (Koło district).

History and what to see

The mine is the most important producer of rock salt in Poland. The visit programme includes a talk on the history of the Kłodawa deposits, a descent by mining cage to the 600 m level and a walk through the workings to the underground Chapel of St. Kinga.
