The Chełm Chalk Tunnels are a unique, historic chalk mine - a sprawling labyrinth of underground corridors carved over the centuries beneath the Old Town of Chełm.
The entrance to the tunnels is located at ul. Lubelska 55a, below Łuczkowski Square (the Old Town Market Square), in Chełm, in the Lublin Voivodeship.
The tunnels are the remains of centuries of underground chalk extraction beneath the town. The route leads through a labyrinth of corridors, and the tour is accompanied by legends (including one about the ghost of Bieluch).
For individual tourists, families and groups; visits only with a guide.
Service office open 9:00-17:00; telephone reservation is welcome.
Sep-Jun descents: 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00; Jul-Aug additional descents every hour 10:00-17:00.
