Ducal Adit in Złoty Stok

The Ducal Adit is a medieval, hand-carved adit in Złoty Stok, a trace of the earliest gold extraction in Lower Silesia. It is located in Złoty Jar, on the slope of Mount Krzyżowa.

Characteristics

The adit is about 200 m long, relatively high (2-3 m) and runs in a wavy line along the exploited ore vein. It was carved in solid rock over about 100 years, probably from the end of the 15th century. In 2015, after a thorough renovation, it was reopened to visitors.

Visiting

The Ducal Adit is intended for self-guided visits. It is not lit, so your own torch is required. It is a separate site from the main route of the Gold Mine.
