Gothic bridge over the Młynówka in Kłodzko

The oldest surviving stone bridge in Poland, spanning the Młynówka canal in Kłodzko. It is about 52.2 m long and about 4 m wide, a four-span arched structure of sandstone with pointed-arch spans.

Location and surroundings

History

It was built around 1390 on the site of an earlier wooden bridge. It was renovated in, among others, 1626, 1701, 1750 as well as 2009 and 2013. Entered in the register of monuments (no. A/4395/59) in 1949.

What to see

The bridge is adorned with six Baroque sculptures, including St Francis Xavier, a Pietà (17th c.), a Crucifixion group, St John of Nepomuk, the Coronation of the Virgin Mary by the Holy Trinity and St Wenceslas.
