Stone Bridge over the Bóbr in Lwówek Śląski

A six-span stone bridge made of sandstone blocks over the Bóbr River. It is about 89 m long and 8.9 m wide, with semicircular vaults.

Location and surroundings

The bridge is located on Stanisława Betleja Street in Lwówek Śląski (Lower Silesian Voivodeship), along a voivodeship road. Coordinates: approx. 51.11028°N, 15.59917°E.

History

The first wooden bridge stood here around 1233, a stone one was erected in 1522, and the present crossing dates from 1792 (the date on a plaque on the central pillar). Partly destroyed in 1813, it was rebuilt by order of Napoleon. Widened in 1865 and 1906-1909. Entered into the register of monuments (no. A/5885) in 2013.
