Józef Piłsudski Legions Bridge in Płock

A historic road-and-rail bridge over the Vistula, connecting the two parts of Płock. It is considered the first bridge in Poland with a sloping gradient - the difference in level between the abutments exceeds 10 m.

The bridge spans the Vistula in Płock (Masovian Province).

History

Built in 1937-1938 (in a record time of about 20 months), it was opened on 19 December 1938. It was one of the largest investments of its kind in interwar Poland. Since 2008 it has been illuminated in the colours of the city flag.
