Railway bridge in Przemyśl

A historic railway truss bridge over the San River, on railway line no. 91 from Kraków to Medyka. It is about 188 m long.

Location and surroundings

The bridge is located between the stations of Przemyśl Główny and Przemyśl Zasanie (Subcarpathian Province). Coordinates: approx. 49.78569°N, 22.77053°E.

History

The first bridge was built in 1860 in connection with the construction of the Vienna-Lviv line; in its present form it has existed since 1891. Blown up in March 1915, it was rebuilt in 1916. During the reconstruction in 2022-2023 the old, historic spans were moved apart and preserved - intended for a pedestrian-and-cycle route and for museum purposes (Museum of the Przemyśl Region).
