Railway bridge in Zgorzelec

A border railway bridge over the Lusatian Neisse River, connecting Polish Zgorzelec and German Görlitz. Built in 1847, it is one of the oldest and most valuable monuments of engineering art from the early period of railway construction in Silesia.

Structure

  • Length approx. 475 m, 35 spans arranged in 6 sections.
  • One of the longest stone bridges in Poland.

Significance

Alongside the railway viaduct in Bolesławiec, it is regarded as one of the most valuable examples of architecture and engineering art from the beginnings of railways in the region.
