Tumski Bridge in Wrocław

A two-span steel, riveted bridge built in 1889 over the northern branch of the Oder, connecting Ostrów Tumski with Piasek Island. One of the most recognisable bridges in Wrocław.

Curiosities

  • Known as the Lovers' Bridge - after the custom of hanging padlocks symbolising love.
  • Ornamental Art Nouveau lanterns and figures of saints at the entrances.

Status

In 1976 it was entered in the register of monuments.
