Ernest Malinowski Railway Bridge in Toruń

A historic railway bridge over the Vistula in Toruń, between the Toruń Główny and Toruń Miasto stations. Officially opened on 14 August 1873.

Structure

  • Total length of approx. 996.8 m.
  • Originally a rail-and-road bridge; the towers on the riverside piers were completed in 1876-1877.
  • Regarded as one of the most outstanding works of engineering art of its time.

History

Blown up in 1939 and 1945, rebuilt in 1948. Named after engineer Ernest Malinowski.
