Historic Bridge over the Bystrzyca in Lublin

A historic reinforced-concrete bridge over the Bystrzyca River by the Zamojska Gate, built using the then-modern Hennebique system to a design by engineer Marian Lutosławski - one of the first such bridges in south-eastern Poland.

History

  • It was built on the historic Bychawa route, dating back to medieval times.
  • In early 1985 a new bridge was built alongside it, and the old one was withdrawn from road traffic.

Status

A monument of technology (reg. no. A/956).
