Dutch windmill in Lędzin

A brick Dutch-type windmill in the village of Lędzin, one of the few fully preserved objects of this type in Western Pomerania. It was probably built at the end of the 19th century.

Construction

  • Circular plan approx. 10 m in diameter and approx. 12 m high, in the shape of a truncated cone.
  • Built of ceramic brick, plastered and whitewashed; three internal storeys.
  • A rotating roof housing four sails (originally approx. 8 m long); preserved mechanism components.

Condition

Renovated in the 1970s-1980s; currently a tourist object, private property - viewing from the outside, interior by arrangement.
