The Adam Chetnik Kurpie Open-Air Museum in Nowogrod

The second oldest open-air museum in Poland, founded on 19 June 1927 by Adam Chetnik. The riverside section gathers rural industrial objects: a water mill, forges, oil mills and a windmill.

Milling objects

  • A water mill from Dobrylas (2nd half of the 19th c.) with a water wheel.
  • A paltrak-type windmill from Plewki.

Protection

Part of the grounds is entered in the register of monuments (including A-416/14/A of 23 Nov 1963, A-536 of 21 Aug 1995).
