Post windmill at the Open-Air Museum in Markowa

A post windmill (kozlak) at the 'Zagroda' open-air museum of the Museum of the Village of Markowa, run by the Society of Friends of Markowa. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries dozens of windmills operated in Markowa; two have survived to this day, including the one presented at the museum.

Characteristics of the object

  • The youngest of the Markowa windmills, built in 1946; moved to the museum in October 1983.
  • It belonged to Jan Kielar; the interior contains a complete set of milling equipment.
