The Historic Silver Mine in Tarnowskie Góry is an underground tourist route in a former mine of silver, lead and zinc ores. The site is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List (2017) as part of the Lead-Silver-Zinc Mine with its Underground Water Management System in Tarnowskie Góry.
Ore mining in Tarnowskie Góry developed over centuries. The silver extracted here was of supra-regional importance, and the zinc mined in the 19th century met a significant part of the then global demand.
The route includes a lift descent to a depth of about 40 m, a walk through a gallery and a boat ride along an underground working. The total length of the route is about 1700 m.
An attraction for families and mining-history enthusiasts; a UNESCO site.
April-October: daily 9:00-17:00 (last entry 16:00). November-March: Tue-Sun 10:00-15:00 (last entry 14:00).
Free parking for about 80 cars. Online booking is recommended.
