The Jan Pazdur Museum of Nature and Technology - Ecomuseum in Starachowice is one of the most important sites on the Świętokrzyskie Route of Industrial Monuments. Its most valuable element is the Blast Furnace Complex from the end of the 19th century.

History

The site covers about 8 hectares with the remains of two successive blast furnace works - the first operated from 1841 to 1900, its successor from 1899 to 1968. The complex is unique on a European scale, presenting the only fully preserved technological line of a blast furnace works from the end of the 19th century on the continent. One of the largest steam engines came to Starachowice from the Industrial Exhibition in Paris in 1899.
