Wolsztyn Steam Locomotive Depot

The Wolsztyn Steam Locomotive Depot is an exceptional monument of railway technology - the last steam depot in the world serving scheduled passenger traffic with steam traction on standard-gauge track. It is a Cultural Institution of the Greater Poland Voivodeship.

History

The site has preserved historic architecture and equipment dating back to 1907. The complex includes a fan-shaped locomotive hall, a workshop with a forge, a water station with a water tower and a water crane, a cleaning pit and a turntable over 100 years old.

What to see

Working steam locomotives, the fan-shaped hall, the turntable, the water station and an open-air museum of railway rolling stock. Steam-hauled trains run from Wolsztyn.
